Description Back Cover
:
Fly Safer, Fly Better
Take command of vital decision-making skills. Use the first large-scale research
study on general aviation pilots in 20 years. Pilot In Command reveals why good
pilots make bad decisions and provides techniques for improving your
decision-making abilities for greater flight safety.
This book enables you to:
- Understand the real
reasons behind the high rate of general aviation accidents.
- Discover differences
between decisions made by expert and general aviation pilots to avoid
accidents.
- Apply
"naturalistic" decision strategies for increased safety.
- Apply effective
"pattern-matching" techniques to critical decisions.
- Eliminate bad
carryovers from your initial training.
- Put ASAP (anticipation,
situation awareness, action, and preparation ) to work for safer pilot
performance.
- Master
awareness-heightening techniques.
- Gain greater command of
emergency resources.
- Discard harmful myths
about emergency declarations and the FAA.
- Avoid the pitfalls that
ensnare good pilots.
Adding to his discoveries
are the insight, savvy, and voice of thousands of hours of flying experience of
a tried-and-tested pilot. If you want to be a safer pilot, let Paul A. Craig's
Pilot in Command show you how to gain control over the most important safety
