About the Author:
J.R. Williams was born in the hard coal region of northeastern Pennsylvania
in 1934.
He learned to fly at
Smith's Flying Service at the Wyoming Valley Airport in Forty-Fort,
Pennsylvania, and worked in the area as a charter pilot and flight instructor
until he went to work for Northeast Flying Service at Washington National
Airport, flying DC-3s before joining Hawaiian Airlines in May 1964.
Williams was a
contributing editor to Private Pilot magazine for seven years and has written
for AOPA Pilot and Air Line Pilot magazines; as well. He has sold more than 150
articles on flying, motorcycles, sailing, health and travel. His first novel was
published in 1981.
