The Comanche is one of the most efficient designs ever to come out of
the Piper factory. This is a 180HP model that cruises comfortably at 135KTs (book value is 139KTs) on less than 10 US gals/hr. The gear retraction system is purely mechanical, one of the simplest around.
This is a great cross country machine with a large cabin and an ample useful load. Total useful load is 1032Lbs to be divided between people, baggage and fuel. Fuel capacity is 60 US Gals for a conservative cruise time of 5.5 hrs with 0.5 day VFR reserve (based on 10 Gal/HR burn).
